OhioHWC Counties & Program Leadership Thank you for your interest in bringing Handle With Care to your community! Ohio Handle With Care utilizes a standardized approach to the program’s implementation to ensure program fidelity while also allowing for adaptations in respect to the strengths of each community. Our standardized approach requires all HWC programs to work in collaboration with Ohio Handle With Care. Many of our counties have already started the process, please check the table below to see if your county is currently part of our effort to handle Ohio with care. If your county is in development (shaded green), active (shaded blue), or interested (shaded yellow) connect with your local HWC Coordinator to get involved - simply click their email! The Center’s goal is total commitment in supporting all schools in ensuring the safety of students, employees, and visitors through effective policies and procedures, training, and community and interagency involvement. There are four main components to their goal: prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Along with OSSC Administrator Emily Torok, the Regional Liaisons are considered OhioHWC Champions. They are trained and willing to bridge gaps and make connections to support the implementation of HWC across all Ohio counties. Learn more about the Ohio School Safety Center by visiting the website.
